First few days in Israel

Moikka all!

Here it is almost +30 and the sun is shining a bit too much but otherwise no complaints.
I work at the customer site with two Turkish and Iranians, an Irish and few local guys who are with Ericsson and then here are one to three Pelephone employees. On the RBS site there are locals and some of them don’t like to speak any English. So when they here that it’s me they say every name of the all the locals that are here so they wouldn’t need to talk to me :p You can’t really say that I’m dying on the work pressure here.

Traffic is quite a night mare. Today was the first time that I drove alone and all together drove at all here (if you don’t count the 10min training with the Ericsson security chief). The locals have no sense in how to use the signal sign, it might be on for many hundred meters or then you don’t use it at all. And of course you need to hang on at least two lanes at the same time if the other one would go faster.

Food is expensive, especially the meat. I bought 400gr of ham sausage for 7e! That’s insane and I think that was the last time that I bought ham here. Mostly fish is available and the prize is ok. On the first floor of this building there is a restaurant that serves good food but the prize is 42 shekels which is about 8e. But as you know me (eat like a horse) so it’s still better then to bring my own huge amount of meal to work. (not to mention that I would have to make at the apartment :) And the work day is usually 8.30-18.30 so there is not that much time to make any food.

In the two weeks time from 8.10. to 22.10. almost every day is some Jewish holiday so it was good time to come here. Although we might have to work on some of those days..

But all together so far so good.

Best wishes,
Lasse
